As a Buyer, you will be solely responsible for reviewing the item description before making an offer, bidding, and/or purchasing. Buyers who purchase "mystery" listings do so at their own risk. The contract to purchase will be between you and the Seller and not between Scout.
Scout does not physically evaluate items listed for sale and is not responsible for any item flaws or description inaccuracies. In the event of an issue with a purchase, such as an item not as described, please inform us within 3 days of delivery of the item to qualify for a refund evaluation under our Scout Protect program. If an item appears to violate Scout's Community Guidelines or Prohibited Items Policy, you may report the listing.
Once a Buyer selects the Buy Now option for a listing or a Buyer makes an offer to purchase items that is accepted by the Seller, it will be considered a purchase and a binding contract between the Buyer and Seller. Upon purchasing an item, a Buyer must remit payment to Scout for the Item, including any listed shipping or additional fees and applicable taxes and other governmental charges. Scout is not an auctioneer, a Seller or a shipping carrier.
Scout reserves the right to delay or cancel any purchase for Trust and Safety purposes, including but not limited to suspected fraud and to protect Users from illegal or otherwise prohibited activities.
All purchases are final with no returns, refunds, cancellations, or retractions allowed, except where: The listing expressly indicates the availability of returns.
In the event of a dispute resolved in favor of the Buyer, Seller must pay and facilitate return shipping if in fact they want the item back. Buyers who make unauthorized returns are not eligible for a refund through Scout.
Transactions cannot be completed, solicited, or arranged outside of the Scout platform, including through live chat during a Scout Live session.
When you place a bid during a Scout Live session, you are entering into a binding commitment to purchase that item at your bid price if you are the highest bidder when the auction ends. Bids cannot be retracted after they are placed. If you win an auction, your saved payment method will be charged automatically — you will not be prompted to confirm the charge. By bidding in a live auction, you authorize Scout to charge your saved payment method for the final winning amount, including any applicable shipping costs and taxes.
To participate in live auctions, you must have a valid payment method and a complete shipping address saved to your account before placing a bid. If your payment method is declined after winning an auction, Scout will notify you and the seller. Scout does not guarantee re-auction of the item.
All live auction purchases are covered by Scout Protect. The 3-day dispute window begins upon confirmed delivery of the item.
Buyers may pay for items only by using payment methods approved by Scout, and Scout will receive such payment from the Buyer on behalf of the Seller. By submitting payment information to Scout, you authorize Scout to charge you for any items purchased. A transaction that begins on Scout may not be completed off of Scout.
Buyers are responsible for shipping costs (as detailed in the Shipping Policy) incurred with respect to their purchased Item(s), as well as taxes and other governmental charges. Please see our Fee Policy for more information about applicable fees.
